| To design and optimise the currently available orthoses for wrist injuries in Pakistan and make them upto the mark. Also to implement our mechanical knowledge to design a much efficient orthosis design that is flexible and can be used by any layman without the aid of any orthotist. |

| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| Usually wrist injuries happen in sports where excessive loading and unloading happens involving the wrist joint. Also in Pakistan around 40-50% of the workforce is involved in agriculture and industry. In most cases, men are expected to carry bags of weight, resulting in wrist pain and injury. |
| How will the solution works |
| Our deisgn will comprise of Neoprene pads with slots for adjustments. The slots will be stuffed using a low costing material that is rather hard enough to render the wrist stationary and is flexible enough to allow individual adjustments. As our main objective is to immobilize the wrist joint, we realized that this can be accomplished by applying enough force from the Front and back side of the wrist, thereby rendering flexion and extension in the wrist joint to a hault. |
