| GO-NUST is an app that would enable Nustians that reside in the same areas to carpool together, going to and from campus everyday, saving time, money and the planet. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| The current means of commute for Nustians are either ride-hailing services or vans, which are expensive, uncomfortable and sometimes unsafe. There is a need for a cheaper, more convenient and safer solution. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| Currently, many students and faculty come to campus alone in four-seater cars. On the other hand, many people rely on expensive cab services and uncomfortable vans for their daily commute. The solution aims to connect the two parties, providing a cheaper, safer and more convenient alternative. |
| How will the solution works |
| The app would recruit willing car owners as drivers - gathering information about their person, destination, and usual route taken. An algorithm would then use this information to match them to potential riders - based on when and where they wish to commute. Prices would be standardized based on distance, and cheaper owing to the fact that the route taken by drivers would be almost the same, while the cost of fuel would be divided among riders. | Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
| Our current competitors are popular ride-hailing services such as Uber and Careem. Our solution would be cheaper, safer, as all parties involved would exclusively be Nustians, and more streamlined owing to similar arrival and departure timings. |
