Fires in commercial areas cause losses in billions as assets are compromised not only by fire but also during the extinguishing process. ADAS will provide an immediate and unmanned solution. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
The conventional fire extinguishing procedures require more maintenance, are inaccurate and not limited to the affected area and ultimately cause great damage to assets. Thus, an immediate and target-specific solution is required. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Small-scale fires in museums, landmarks and factories can cause irreversible damage. Data vaults, libraries and server rooms store large amounts of confidential data, thus fire can cause great losses in these areas. ADAS would enable these sectors to preserve goods, history and information. |
How will the solution works |
The drone is made autonomous using machine learning algorithms. When a fire breaks out smoke sensors will signal the drone via RF transmitter. The location will be locked via localization algorithm. Camera will help it perceive objects and using perception algorithms it will create the objects in the virtual map and navigate through the warehouse. The drone then using simultaneous localization and mapping will move on top of the fire, drop the fire ball hence putting out the fire. |
