| Often times, while praying we tend to forget what Rakat we’re on no matter how hard we’re focusing.With E-Rakat it will no longer be a problem.It is a device developed to aid concentration in prayers. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| We are aiming to develop an autonomous device that will counts the Rakats during Namaz and provides feedback to the person. It is a product that’s not yet introduced in the market. And will be based on innovative portable technology. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| It caters to a wide demographic since the problem being addressed is one that almost everyone faces at one point or another. It could prove more helpful for older people or people with memory issues. It’s a budget friendly device so it’ll be easier for the general public to get their hands on. |
| How will the solution works |
| The internal working is made possible by employing a gyroscope which measures angular velocity and accelerometer which measures linear acceleration. These both are combined to implement motion sensing techniques taking data from the movements and motions in the prayer thus detecting the Rakat you are on. The readings from both these will be taken through microcontroller Arduino and imported via Bluetooth to MATLAB/PYTHON. Further techniques of machine learning will be used to process the data. |
| Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
| As this product is not available in local market and even if it is (that is not wearable), it has to be imported which significantly increases cost. So we aim to be the first one to develop this product and introduce in local market. |
