What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Pakistan is under equipped for mass PCR testing. Import of automated testing machines cause financial burden on our health sector. It will help in saving the health budget being spent on import of costly automated testing machines allowing local health centers to increase throughput of testing. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
By hospitals, testing labs, medical centers, scientific medical research institutions and local health and testing centers.Cheaper for small hospitals and laboratories so the general public will be the ultimate beneficiary.Medical health workers will benefit as lesser work for more testing. |
How will the solution works |
The product will require the samples to be put into it, in pallets with numbered test tubes. Users will select the type of test that is to be done via graphical interface.Then the gantry system will prepare the sample.For example, for Covid-19 sample preparation one needs: 1.Reagent addition 2.Nucleic acid absorption 3.Washing while avoiding contamination 4.Elution All these processes will be automated closed system using robotic arm having stepper motors gears,HMI,software etc. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Currently all our competitors are foreign medical instrument manufacturers having Chinese, US, or European origin with local suppliers. Our solution is specifically for the Pakistani market however, at later stage, its export as a low-cost solution can be explored. |
