| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| Currently, when pilots enroll in PAF they are given a very long checklist to learn over a course of time through rote learning, and this process is very time-consuming. This checklist is crucial as it makes the difference between life and death in any given situation. Uraan aims to improve this. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| Uraan is a tool that pilots of Pakistan can surely benefit from it, especially the ones in air force. The benefit the pilots and organizations can obtain from this is faster training time and that too more efficiently. |
| How will the solution works |
| The hardware used is Oculus Headset that comes with a pair of controllers. Uraan consists of a 360 environment of a cockpit, with two modes: learn & test. The learning-mode will guide the pilot by biaural sounds, visual and spatial cues into learning the checklist items by practically performing them with the given controllers e.g. adjust yoke, etc. The pilot will use the controllers to manipulate the virtual objects. In the ‘Test’ mode, the pilot’s checklist learning will be evaluated. |
| Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
| We have one competitor as of now but it does not focus on the checklist aspect but more on the entire flight simulation. Furthermore, our product is much cheaper and can be extended to any amount of checklists and different planes. |
