Abstract: |
The Project uses a simple methodology of approximately model Pile yielding/ Failure under the effects of lateral loads on super structure, was used to investigate the effect of different parameter on the internal response of pile foundation. The simple static methodology was developed and verified by 3D Finite Element Modelling using Software ABAQUS. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Existing methodology for accessing the deflection of lateral loaded single pile in sand and clay using linear and non liner finite element analyses by P-y method and Continum theory. simple methodology for the lateral seismic analysis of pile foundation was developed and verified by 3D FEM. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Pile foundations are needed in areas where the structures constructed are large & heavy and the soil underlying is weak. In areas where settlement issues are common due to soil liquefaction or water table issues and also in places directly falling onto the seismic zones. |
How will the solution works |
Technical Working involves the quantification and assessment of dynamic response of Piles when subjected to Lateral loading through 3D Finite Element Continuum Modelling in Abaqus software. Piles once subjected to lateral loading are described by PY Curves, basing on PY Curves for every Single Pile, all analysis is done which is then applied to Group Piles moreover, all this analysis is done so that Design considerations of Piles is improvised |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Previously, there is no comprehensive research work has been carried on this subject however Our Project focuses on current design practice of pile foundations and research methodology based on analysis developed and verified by 3D Finite Element Modelling |
