Abstract:
    To ensure that power is transmitted everywhere, proper maintenance and monitoring of transformers is vital, however, currently Pakistan lacks a systematic way to monitor transformers. Our project proposes the implementation of an extrusive device to monitor the transformers’ health, eliminating the old maintenance methods and facilitating utilities in monitoring huge transformer networks.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Our solution eliminates the downtime of maintenance and human errors, minimizes the labor required, prevents mishaps caused to infrastructure and human lives, provides a one-time, cost-effective solution for utilities and ensures provision of uninterrupted electricity from rural to urban areas.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   In Pakistan, power outages are a common occurrence that create setbacks in our daily lives. We aim to eliminate this problem faced by Pakistanis at a national scale by providing this solution to electric utility companies which would ease their monitoring and maintenance processes.
How will the solution works
    Output current from a transformer is fetched, preprocessed, and then fed to an AI model deployed on Raspberry Pi. This AI model was trained on a dataset configured according to IEEE Standards which had load losses and corresponding health states. The model than outputs a health score, which is then sent over an MQTT based IoT network to be displayed on the user’s dashboard.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    As of now there are no competitors in Pakistan’s market offering a solution similar to ours. This with the added ease of adaptability and scalability of the IoT network gives our product a huge edge.
