Abstract: |
One of the main aspects of human survival is agriculture, the main source of food. Today, the agriculture industry is facing environmental challenges like unfavorable weather conditions, climate change and lack of natural resources. As a result of this the adoption of IOT solutions alongside GIS has been triggered in order to cut back on these losses by introducing the concept of Smart Farming. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Smart Farming will enable producers and farmers to reduce waste and improve productivity by optimizing the usage of fertilizers, water and electricity to boost the efficiency of plants. Farmers will be able to monitor the field conditions from anywhere without any hassle with increased yield. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Major beneficiaries will be Farmers, Data Analysts, Agricultural Industry and the Local Market. Our device will help farmers decrease their costs and increase yields at the same time by improving their decision making with real time data from the sensors. The quality of production will increase. |
How will the solution works |
IoT ecosystem for data collection is an hardware & Software integration in a syncnorized manner using mesh network of solar powered sensor boxes. Data preprocessing covers data filtering, noise removal and interpolation. Data storage segment covers cloud database, PostgreSQL and SD card. Data analytics covers GIS based GPS tracking, Sensor data map, live web app and machine learning AI based comparison and prediction models. This information to farmers, analyst is provided by mobile/dashboard. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Competitors are agricultural drones. We will build interconnected devices which will have sensors for scanning soil moisture, soil temperature, relative humidity, air temperature, light intensity, soil pH and soil electrical conductivity. Our web dashboard and mobile app will provide data analytics. |
