Abstract:
    Pakistan has been a victim of multiple natural disasters in the past including floods and earthquakes. Rendered homeless, millions were affected. Current damage detection techniques include visual inspections. However, they are time-consuming and costly, therefore not suitable for post-disaster scenarios (Liu. et al, 2019). Hence, there is a need to develop a technique that makes post-disaster damage detection quick and cost-effective. Strcutural Health Monitoring is considered for this purpose. SHM techniques so far lack two important functions: (1) Global damage Assessment does not give the location of damage and (2) They lack digital visualization. This project aims to develop a working prototype (including input, processing and output). The prototype receives input from accelerometers regarding the acceleration of the structural elements and another input from the building information model containing data regarding the structural elements. The code then utilizes this data and performs instant processing to analyze whether or not the individual elements are damaged. The damaged elements are then visualized on the building information model. The prototype is to be validated on an existing structure.
