| The construction sector involves significant and fatal safety risks for workers including fatality risks which may result in serious injuries and sometimes deaths. Surveys show that workers easily get injured due to lack of concentration, resulting in height falls, being hit by falling objects or moving machinery, or hitting someone while operating machinery. Most practical training programs in live construction are oral instructions associated with some video demonstration which in fact becomes ineffective. These old training methods have become inefficient, and they need to be updated with emerging technology where participants can interact and do the decision making. With the rapid development in technology, immersive virtual reality (VR) technology as a key interactive tool is becoming mature and is applied to facilitate different domains in the engineering world. This study establishes a system using modern technology of Immersive VR where the worker can virtually interact with the site and perform decision-making when exposed to possible hazards. | |
