| "Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan, with a population of 2.8 million people. It has excellent socioeconomic as well as cultural values. It also serves as a trade route connecting Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. This city is located in seismic zone 4. Several devastating disasters have struck the city in the last century. The people, culture, and economy of this city are vital to the development of this country, necessitating the seismic vulnerability assessment. So that corrective measures can be developed in the event of a hazard, ultimately making the city safe from disasters. The data for this study will be gathered by conducting a survey of various structures in Quetta, Baluchistan. The seismic vulnerability of buildings will be assessed in this study through structural modeling using available data. The failure modes will then be identified using cyclic loading. If the structure fails the tests, low-cost retrofitting designs will be provided. Because of the anisotropic nature of the masonry, the majority of the structures in Quetta are the most difficult to understand and model. We hope that by the end of this study, we will have reduced the risk of damage that can be caused by earthquakes in Quetta, Baluchistan." | |
