Abstract:
    "Water is the essential element for all humankind. However, there are some areas where water is not sufficiently supplied. They are mostly rural areas and, in such areas, supplying energy like fossil fuel for cleaning water is also difficult. Consequently, water-borne diseases are also increasing with time. One option might be to transfer the emphasis and workload from large scale water treatment initiative that requires huge money, resources, and time to small domestic scale system for water treatment. Solar water distillation might be a good way to deal with this severe shortage. This experiment is based on the double slope solar still with heating module. This experimental choice was justified by abundance and low cost of solar energy, as well as the ease of installation and maintenance of solar still. For the small household and community residing in island and coastal areas, these inexpensive solar stills are enough to cover their needs. Thermoelectric heaters were used to increase the temperature of water to get high thermodynamic performance of a solar still. Additionally, these stills can also be used for distillation of brackish water for the population residing near riverbanks"
