Heart rate(HR) and Blood pressure(BP) are simple and most important pieces of physiological information. Traditional methods for measuring HR and BP rely on electronic and optical sensors which are in contact with the skin. Our system provides unobtrusive and noninvasive monitoring, using imaging-based remote examination. |

The project’s objective is to ease the monitoring process of HR and BP to overcome the shortcomings of conventional methods by using real-time video processing. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
This method is desirable for people who contract skin allergies, rashes, and infections from ECG which also restricts movement. It is also used in applications where continuous monitoring is required. |
How will the solution works |
The proposed method consists of extracting the Region of interest (ROI) from facial images obtained from the input video. The ROI of each image is processed to extract an rPPG signal. Heart rate and Hear rate variability(HRV) are directly derived from this rPPG signal. As HR is positively correlated with BP so HR along with other physiological features like HRV and pulse transit time is used to measure BP. |

The devices and machines used for HR and BP monitoring are costly so the non-invasive method overcomes the shortcomings of the conventional method and is an economical alternative that will be accessible to everyone easily which will attract people to buy it. |
