| Fast transportations are nerves for a countries economical growth.Traffic problems are increasing day by day due to lack of mismanagement, less research and innovation and due increase in number of vehicles on roads due to population growth. Recent works has been done but they are less implementations. So we are going to built a system using real time image processing which will be more efficient. | |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? | |
| This project is reducing man power. Due to smart system more cars will be able to pass through traffic signals. It is also reducing noise problems, Air pollution, Stress for drivers, fuel. Moreover this project can extent. it is working for a sustainable environment. | |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? | |
| Humans facing traffic problems and loss due to these problems almost daily. They need it more than anybody. Traffic departments also need it. The number of people passing through traffic signals daily will got benefits from this system. State government will also got benefits from it. | |
| How will the solution works | |
| The four cameras will be placed on every side of traffic. The cameras will capture the real time situation of traffic and will give the frames to processing unit or microcontroller. There the process of image processing will be done with frames. In image processing, the vehicles will be detected and will be count. Then depending on the number of vehicles, a specific time will be given to that side of traffic. | |
| Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different | |
| A sustainable environment is our first priority. Some organizations and people are working for this problem using electronic sensors which has so many limitations like problems while raining etc. which is costly. A system with most efficiency and less cost is needed for which we are working. | |
