Abstract: |
Each year in Pakistan, numerous accidents happen on highways due to fog, resulting in the loss of precious lives. Our idea is to devise an obstacle detection mechanism that can prevent accidents in fog, and maximize the safety of vehicles on highways. Moreover, the device thus designed, shall be economically feasible for the local market, and compatible with most automobiles. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Every year in winters, highways get closed and traffic gets disrupted because of fog. In Pakistan, most of the vehicles on roads are not equipped with an obstacle detection system, which makes them liable to damage during times of fog. Our device will ensure safety and save time for the users. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Our main target will be automobile owners. We will design our device to be compatible with most vehicles, which would mean that majority of automobile users will be able to benefit from our device. Being economically feasible and locally manufacturable, the product will encourage local production. |
How will the solution works |
The main component of the design is the sensor, which will transmit and receive waves to detect obstacles within a defined range. A feedback system will process the received waves to analyze the probability of collision. In case the device detects a probable collision, an alarming system will inform the driver timely and prevent the accident. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
As far as the local market is concerned, this type of product is not being produced. Our design will be affordable, protected against fog and moisture and will have greater precision. |
