| Smart Aquaponics is an automated farming system that provides environment and health conscious consumers with organic food while minimizing water consumption and maximizing yield by using closed loop farming system. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| According to a Pakistan Bureau of Statistics report, 16% of the population is experiencing moderate or severe food insecurity despite being an agrarian economy. On the other hand, water resources are also declining and arable land is shrinking due to the surge in housing societies. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| Smart Aquaponics is best suited for the farming in the deserts and arid areas where water is not abundantly available and this system requires 90% less water. Besides this, in urban areas people can farm vegetables on their rooftop for their domestic consumption and can expand vertically as well. |
| How will the solution works |
| Aquaponics is an agricultural technique that is a combination of aquaculture, growing fish and other aquatic life for both ornamental and food production reasons, and hydroponics, the soil less method of growing plants. This combination yields a sustainable system, where the fish waste is used by plants as nutrition source, and in return plants detoxify the water for fish, by consuming their waste. The system is automated through sensors and ML is to make the efficient decisions. |

| We are a trailblazer in this system and currently, we don't have any competitors in Pakistan. This system is a novel way of farming that hasn't been experimented prior. |
