Abstract:
The solution I am proposing is a home-heating unit that uses organic waste from your kitchen/house and produces clean, renewable energy, in an attempt to minimize fuel usge, expense, waste load, etc.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
The most pressing issue that hurdles waste management in Pakistan is failure to put resourceful organic waste to use. This biodegradable refuse from houses, restaurants, etc. ends up, more often than not, on roads and in dumps, losing its essence which could have been employed elsewhere usefully.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
The targeted user is an average home owner who aims to use their waste inside the house to extract energy from it rather than throwing it out. It will also replace a good amount of the LPG/NG used to heat the house.
How will the solution works
Organic waste will be sorted and put by user into the unit. The waste, after a starting period of 7 days, will be digested in a vacuum sealed digester anaerobically to produce biogas. This biogas will be treated and filtered and will provide flame to burn in a room heating unit's plate.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
The competitors as of now are biowaste stoves. The factors that I plan to improve upon are: Sufficient provision of energy Safety measures Durable solution Better design Ease of use
