Abstract: |
Most of the navigation today is based on Global Positioning System (GPS) but with GPS there are some limitations. GPS is not available everywhere due to geographical features of Earth. For example, GP |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Our device would reduce the dependency on GPS. It would allow us to know the final position of the vehicle based on first known coordinates. This will be most effective when used with GPS as it can help to get most accurate real time position.
|
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Accuracy of navigation system will impact every user who travels. However, this system would benefit self driving car manufacturers as it gives a cheap yet accurate navigation system not dependent on GPS.
|
How will the solution works |
We have connected an accelerometer (ADXL-335), to measure acceleration along all three axes with an interval of 0.25 seconds (interval can be adjusted as per vehicle speed and accuracy requirement), with Aurduino UNO. Aurdino is powering the Accelerometer sensor and noting the readings in serial monitor. These readings saved in an excel .xlsx file which is linked with MATLAB. These readings are double integrated by simulink to get required displacement of the body. In this way the vehicle can be |
