Abstract: |
Introducing practical data-driven smart diagnostics using high-end computing for efficient screening of Leukemia considering CBC reports; hence supporting assessments of medical practitioners. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Early detection of Leukemia requires accurate & efficient screening. Common subjective assessment using a CBC report may lead to miss diagnosis due to variation in assessments. Hence, a support of effective user friendly tech solution as a smart second opinion helps decreasing rate of its prevalence |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Depleting resources of our health care system needs support of professionals and data driven solutions. Invasive and expensive medical tests are un-affordable for the people of Pakistan. Hence, our proposed product benefits medical practitioners and around 3% suspected patients of Leukemia. |
How will the solution works |
First stage is development of machine learning model for prediction of patient’s class as Leukemic/Non-Leukemic using significant variables (medically & statistically) of indigenous CBC reports. Then production of an edge computing-based product integrated with an optic sensor to scan the CBC report and a screen to display the results (Yes/No). The introduction of edge computing devices provide fast computing power for ML models, and allow developers to handle advances in the proposed process. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
We found no such complete solution of this problem in market. Our tech product is different in terms of addressing local health care issues using primary info of CBC reports, justified selection of significant features (both medically & statistically), valid scheme of modeling, and ease of adoption. |
