Abstract:
A small scale paper recycling unit for schools which can turn waste into recycled paper on campus without any external waste management organization or industrial recycling.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
The paper usage will only increase in the time to come and the waste management companies that collect paper waste are not enough. A small-scale recycling unit is a need for every modern school or institute especially Art schools not only to cater their waste management but also to circular economy.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Students mainly students from art schools and design schools. The use of paper in these schools is a lot. If they can themselves recycle/downcycle their waste, there's a huge potential in bringing circular economy on campus at these schools.
How will the solution works
Designed for use of students themselves, this small scale recycling unit is compact, ergonomic product that not only shred paper to decrease its volume but also make it into a pulp and finally press it with rollers and conveyor to form recycled paper.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
Although there are waste management organizations which collect this waste and recycle it on the industrial level, and there are these paper shredders that can substantially reduce waste volume in its disposal, there still a need for a small scale recycling unit which can convert waste into recycle
