Abstract: |
Smart Stethoscope aims to provide a hassle free heartbeat recording and monitoring device which comes with an application allowing patient-doctor interaction taking place in the comfort of their homes |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
An average person does not have knowledge of keeping a record of their heart-beats by a simple stethoscope, while those who can record for themselves are not able to identify their beats as regular or irregular; thus we come forward with the idea of a smart stethoscope |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Every patient suffering from cardiovascular diseases or those in need of constant heartbeat monitoring is need of an affordable smart stethoscope which would aid in the continuous monitoring of heartbeat in comfort at home and communicating with their doctors thus, promoting tele-medicine. |
How will the solution works |
It has four majors parts; model training and testing on online datasets, production of smart steth device using single board computer and application interface, self data collection via collab with cardiologist and; training and testing on data collected.Smart Stethoscope device would be modeled by modifying the stethoscope using a mic and single-board computer such that it functions so as to record and classify heartbeat and transfer files to an online cloud service allowing doctors' diagnosis |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Eventhough there are smart stethoscopes available in the market, they are very expensive and are not affordable by a common man and they work for lung sound classification; however our goal is to devise a device that would be affordable to a common man and would be monitoring heartbeats. |
