| The serum samples of Liver cancer patients shown abnormal levels of certain biomolecules knows as metabolites which affect certain pathways in cancer. We aim to analyse them via GC- MS. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| Cancer diagnostics, especially for liver are certainly not at a stage where diagnosis yeilds maximum chances of effective treatment. Most liver cancer cases are diagnosed at a stage when only supportive rather than curative treatment can be given. Identifying biomarkers can lead to early diagnosis.

| 840 000 people die of primary liver cancer each year, making it the fourth largest cause of caner mortality. |
| How will the solution works |
| Identification of metabolites in the patient samples vs the normal samples will serve as potential biomarkers for rapid diagnosis of Liver Cancer. The biomarkers will be unregulated or downregulated i.e. show abnoraml behaviour in comparison to normal levels of these metabolites. |
