Abstract:
The FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) E-band 60 GHz radar is used to continuously measure blood pressure in various locations on the body like the radial artery on the wrist.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
Continuous BP monitoring system through Wearable device
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Any (hypertension) Patient who have Blood Pressure issues can use it. The National Health Survey of Pakistan estimated that hypertension affects 18% of adults and 33% of adults above 45 years old.
How will the solution works
A FMCW based wearable radar system in the form of smart watch feature will be wearable on arm or wrist bands. The continuous mm-wave signal will be transmitted by FMCW system and corresponding signal is received with some delay. The transmitted and received IF (low frequency) data will be processed and compared it with some reference data that give us the blood pressure value of monitored patient.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
Digital and Analog BP measurement devices manufacturer are the competitors. We are providing solution for continuous monitoring of BP using mmWave technology with wearable handy device that can be integrated with wrist watch.
