Abstract: |
We aim to create a module using ethereum blockchain which will be visible and attainable to all the participants of pharma supply chain management system. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Due to less secure systems one of biggest challenges faced by pharma supply management is pharmaceutical fraud, more than 100,000 people die in Africa due to improper dosing from counterfeited drugs ordered from not known or trusted vendors we will provide a solution to this problem. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
A lay men would need it to make sure that the drugs they are consuming are authentic and original. Everyone included in pharma supply chain management system i.e. Manufacturer, distributer, retailor and the consumer would benefit from it as they would get better transparency over the entire system. |
How will the solution works |
We plan to make a Web application which will let all the participants of the supply chain to make purchase orders and all their transaction history will be saved in blockchain. This Information such as, time, lot number, barcode, expiry date is included in the blockchain and can be viewed by the customer by scanning the bar code on medicine through mobile application this will let them authenticate the credentials of the suppliers and the originality of the drugs. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
As of now we have no competitors in Pakistan, few international companies like TrackTraceRx, Novartis Blockchain have worked on similar idea but they lack few of the features like temperature check for drugs that we will introduce in our system. |
