Abstract:
The demand response program shifts the shiftable load from peak time to off peak time automatically depending upon the priority of the user.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
The main idea of our project is to maintain a balance between generation and demand for electricity. The project revolves around the idea of automatically turning off the low priority appliances during the peak demand hours. Society needs the development of this project to avoid load shedding.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
This program is actually available for all residential customers. Our project will be applicable to all residential users. As nowadays there is large energy efficiency so the maximum number of people need our idea.
How will the solution works
The priority of the appliances will be taken from the user. And depending upon that priority the shifting of appliances will happen. CT and PT will be used for the power, current, and voltage measurements of the loads, and the difference is calculated using these transformers. And the loads equal to the power difference between demand and supply are shifted. The prototype uses CT and PT for power measurement but actually, this work is done by Smart meters.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
Demand response already being used uses the idea of price. But we take care of the comfort of the user by using the technique of priority-based demand response. In this way our project is different. To the best of my knowledge, there aren't any priority-based demand response being implemented.
