Abstract: |
A comparative study of various techniques employed for turbine cooling and development of computer code to analyze the performance of different methods to enhance the performance of the turbine. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
For a higher efficiency, turbine inlet temperature needs to be increased. But higher temperature damages turbine blades along with centrifugal stresses, so turbine cooling is necessary. For this purpose, this calculator will help in selection of the most efficient cooling technique for the user. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
For power generation in aircrafts, trains, ships, electrical generators, pumps, gas compressors, and tanks, turbines are used and thus they need it this calculator to suffice the cooling needs. With the appropriate cooling method their work efficiency can be increased. |
How will the solution works |
The computer program will be able to determine which cooling technique will be suitable for the given input conditions by displaying different performance curves. It will also compare the different performance parameters including efficiency, power output, and cost effectiveness. This will be done by integrating the studied methods and enhancements into a programming system. The software will also give a design to incorporate the cooling techniques on the turbine to give enhanced results. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Our major competitors are other online calculators available with similar functions. But our calculator is offering more accurate results with minimum amount of input parameters while keeping it easier to use and incorporating the minor factors/losses too. And making no compromise on interface. |
