Abstract:
Patients more likely survive disease, if hospital have high nurse-patient ratio. Nurse staff is prone to infectious diseases, toxic substances, radiation. Bot will minimize risks and speed up process
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
There is a very low nurse to patient ratio in hospitals in Pakistan. The ratio is many times lower in government hospitals especially in emergency wards. Studies have shown that patients have greater chances of surviving critical situations where the ratio is above the prescribed limit.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
It will free the medical staff from performing repetitive tasks so that the staff can serve critical functions. The patients wont have to stand in long queues to fill medical history and record their vitals or find the suitable doctor. It will serve 170 mil poor people who use govt health facilities
How will the solution works
We are developing a robot nurse that will interact with patients, record their medical history and store info. A predetermined set of questions will be asked and nlp will be used to extract data to fill EMR. The robot will be able to measure body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate of patients. This will minimize waiting times in hospitals and will reduce exposure to infections.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
This is the first robot of its type that is being developed. Robots were made during the COVID crisis to provide food and medical supplies to patients in quarantine centers, but no robot has been developed that can perform the repetitive tasks performed by nurses.
