    The translation of raw olives into dietary or medicinal use requires processing. Pit removal is a major constraint in processing. A semi-autonomous machine is designed for effective pit extraction.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Indigenous production of olive pit extraction machines is scare in Pakistan. Such expensive machines are imported, swelling import bill. SMEs don’t have the finances to import such machines and a cheaper alternate for that is offered in form of our project.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Olive farmers intending to process olives as well as SMEs require such a solution. By 2024, Pakistan would produce 1415 tons of olive oil with an estimated worth of Rs4.416 bn. The statistics reflect that a large number of farmers and SMEs would be benefitted by the machine.
How will the solution works
    Olives are placed into the olive feeder with the aid of a human. The olives are then carried towards the pit detaching device with the help of olive carrier. The olive carrier is in the form of roller, where olives are place in carved out shapes. The roller stops at regular intervals and takes line by line of olives towards the olive detaching device, which removes the pits by the striking of vertical needles.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    The main competitors are basically the importers who import such machinery. The solution is somewhat similar to other solutions. The thing that really makes our machine stand out is the ease of maintenance and low cost solution.
