Abstract:
We are aiming at ease of the patient and limiting risks and diseases by developing a device for respiration monitoring and apnea detection that will be :ContactlessIoT basedPortable
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
Previous solutions bound the doctor for constant monitoring and require direct(wired) connection to the patients body .Our device will wirelessly monitor the respiration rate and best suitable for epidemics like COVID19 and burn victims and neonates.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
According to survey and researches there are1 Billion+ patients worldwide0.5 Million patients in Pakistanof apnea and we are aiming to facilitate these patients and doctors
How will the solution works
We will be using a commercially available IR-UWB (X4M200 Radar Development kit) for this project purpose.• This sensor will send the signals and collect the reflected signal from the chest.• MATLAB will be used for acquiring, processing and storing the data.• Signal Processing techniques will used to extract required signal and respiration rate and to detect apnea• The desired signal will be displayed on the screen next to patient and the data will also be available for remote monitoring
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
Existing solutions are Impedance Pneumographic(IP) and Polysomnography . We are aiming to provide contactless and IoT based solution to the problem that will help to monitor respiration patterns and help the doctors and relevant staff in handling diseases like Apnea.
