Abstract: |
Model of the gas network will be designed to find losses in the gas network. The timely simulation of the system will give us all possible real time losses in the original system. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
The Idea is to utilize fast simulation technique that allow us to observe large gas distribution network. Such analysis not only identify leakages and measurement error, but it also helps us in the regulation of such network. The regulation of gas network will help reduce annual gas losses of $2B. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Natural gas is used to provide necessities in everyday life such as cooking, clothes drying, heating etc. Gas distribution companies incurs huge losses in the form of gas leakages, theft, etc. The detection of losses will help gas distribution companies to provide inexpensive gas to the people. |
How will the solution works |
Gas distribution Network Consists of pipes, valves, pumps and network structure. Every component can be modelled separately. When all the components are put together in a network, the model results in large set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) Which takes much time to simulate the model. The idea of model order reduction will help us providing fast simulation of the network. A GUI framework will be designed where network will be input and the result will be compared with actual results |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Laser based leak detection equipment are used to detect gas leakages which takes years to scan the whole network. The idea of simulation along with the knowledge of model order reduction will help us get the simulation results faster |
