| Wheelchairs used in Pakistan are manual which make it difficult for the user to travel. On the other hand, electric wheelchairs are expensive. We aim to design a cost-efficient power attachment. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| Given that Pakistan is a third-world country, we have a dearth of inexpensive utilities for special needs. Our project will help disabled people gain what they need. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| - Handicapped people need utilities for a more functional life. This attachment will make mobility more convenient for them. - Around 1 million Pakistani people are handicapped. |
| How will the solution works |
| The manual wheelchair user will have to merely attach our device using a clip-on mechanism. A battery-operated electric motor mounted on an attachment is used to propel the wheelchair. |
| Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
| We have no local competitors in Pakistan. Currently, the product is imported from foreign companies and is very expensive. Our product is different because it is cheap, easily affordable and made specifically for Pakistanis. |
