Abstract: |
Development of a supernumerary upper body robot that will not only enhance weight lifting capabilities of labor but also be highly dexterous so as to allow complex tasks to be performed. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
The robot enhances weight lifting capabilities of workers in the industry while insuring that no bodily harm comes to these workers. It is highly logical for industries to minimize the numbers of workers while also ensuring that no workers suffer any bodily harm during their work. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Industries and their workers would be the main beneficiaries of the product. The number of people that benefit is dependent upon the extent to which the product is implemented in the industry. It has the potential of helping hundreds of thousands of workers while saving millions for the industry. |
How will the solution works |
The product is a metal assembly similar to human arms. These arms are connected to a back frame which transfers the loads to the ground. The motion of the real limbs is transferred to the robot using a Machine Learning software allowing the user to easily operate the robot. The limbs are designed to handle loads up-to 100kg. This means that users can operate heavy loads easily. The robot also has a mobility mode which allows the user to move freely with load via tires at the bottom of the frame. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Cranes, forklifts, conveyor belts or hooks can be considered competitors as they deal in relocation as well. Our product is much more expedient than these due to the fact that it does not require lengthy setup, is very mobile, requires almost no user training and is much cheaper. |
