Damaged roads are common in rural areas as well as semi-urban areas causing various problems. One cause of such roads is rain especially heavy monsoon. Innovative roads counter by absorbing water. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Rain damage on roads deprives Man and vehicle of safety, a quality of life standard. They also cause heavy time delay affecting man and industry especially in semi-urban areas with poor drainage. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
The residents of rural & semi-urban areas as well as those that have to cross such areas as part of their port-folio will experience change. Industries privileging raw material from such areas will also be privileged. |
How will the solution works |
The idea focuses on WMM (Wet mix macadam) roads, WBM (Water bound macadam) roads and CC (Cement Concrete) roads. Now SP (Sodium Polyacrylate) SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer) can absorb 300-800 its own weight. SP powder will be added minutely to binder/cement. In WMM/WBM SP will be present below the camber, in case of water accumulation in crack during rain it will absorb the puddle water and prevent raveling and degradation. In CC roads they too will absorb water similarly and maintain quality. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Every raw material factory will compete. Traditional techniques will persist despite Innovations ease of use. More advanced non-macadam asphalt/cement roads will also compete. This solution however absorbs rain instead of increasing durability like other approaches. |
