Abstract: |
The system is designed for efficient management of books in the library. It will provide RFID authentication, anti-theft control. Book search, self-checkout, alerts will be displayed on a Mobile App. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
The libraries of our country are traditional, and record of books is kept manually. Book search, issue and return is a time-consuming process. ILM automates the library and addresses these issues. To meet the demands of digital generation, every library needs to invest in this efficent solution. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
ILM is essential for schools, colleges, private, public libraries, and other organizations. The library staff, students and library members will be benefitted due to enhanced customer service, rapid book search, a constant update of collections of books, efficient borrowing and anti-theft. |
How will the solution works |
An RF-ID card issued to the library members will be scanned at the entrance. This information will be received and verified by the microcontroller. A mobile application will be designed to create easy access to the database of the library containing information regarding the book name, the record of the books issued, to whom issued and fines. The user can search for books through this app. Each book will have an RF-ID tag that will be scanned at the self-checking counter updating the database. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
The library management system is so far not completely implemented in Pakistan. Several companies provide library systems, but they are not fully automated. ILM is a cost-effective, customizable and fully automated solution in which we are integrating several features controlled by a mobile app. |
