Abstract:
    The project is about the timely diagnosis of lung cancer by analyzing the lung microbiome of cancier patients with biosensors, without having to go through the painful and costly process of tissue biopsies.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    The project will offer a cost effective,painless, user friendly and timely diagnosis of Lung cancer in a person specific manner based on their natural bacterial profile.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   The project will benefit the patients, physicians and scientific community alike.
How will the solution works
    We have identified a bacterial biomarker in Lung cancer patients, not previously reported in any other cancer types. its presence in lung cancer patients in significant percentage of 27 percent and absence in healthy individuals is the strength of this project and will be a reliable diagnostic and prognostic biomarker. Also, it will offer timely diagnosis of Lung cancers which is not possible in biopsies.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Our solution is unique in the sense that at present a conventional technique such as tissue biopsy is being performed. We will isolate the bacteria from the lungs of cancer patients then perform a metagenomic analysis coupled with microbiome based biosensing using bacterial specific receptors.   slot kilat
