Abstract:
Solar energy is employed as the main source of energy in this project to supply a residential load. It is an on-grid system that uses WAPDA energy as well as a set of batteries to back up the load in the event that both energy sources are unavailable. This project will assist households who already have a regular UPS/Inverter and wish to upgrade it to support Solar Energy.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
Solar panels are not supported by the UPS that we utilize. Therefore, when a customer switches to a Solar Supported UPS, they discard their old UPS. Additionally, due to high cost of solar panels, many consumers do not update. We created a device that can integrate solar energy with the typical UPS.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Those consumers that want to run a fixed load on Solar energy by using a UPS that does not support Solar Panels.
How will the solution works
Solar energy produced by solar panels serves as the primary energy source. At any point during operation, the MPPT will optimize the energy supplied by the connected solar panels. This energy will be used to power the load connected to the standard UPS/Inverter as well as charge the batteries through a BMS. In case the Solar Panels are unable to provide the required energy, WAPDA energy will be used in sync with the Solar Panels remaining energy.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
Currently, there are no competitors in the market.
