Abstract: |
Due to inconvenience of wearing 3D glasses for 3D display, I come up with a solution to display 3D without the need of glasses. The principle would be that two pixels will be placed between two thin long extrusions. The left extrusion will block left pixel for left eye and the right extrusion will block right pixel for right eye. This pattern will be repeated to create a curved display. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
3D technology is slowly ending, as people are avoiding it due to inconvenience of wearing headset or glasses. There exists a solution of lenticular display, but it distorts the image and causes blur. For this reason I want to make 3D display that doesn’t require glasses. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
This glasses-free 3D display requires you to be at a specific distance from the display, so it is most probably be used as a 3D Desktop Monitor. |
How will the solution works |
The principle is based on is that two pixels will be placed between two thin long extrusions. The left extrusion will block left pixel for left eye and the right extrusion will block right pixel for right eye. This pattern will be repeated to create a display. For this to work properly, the display will be a bit curved (degree of curvature will be calculated accordingly). |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
I believe that my extrusion-based displays has potential of producing better image quality than Lenticular displays . |
