Abstract:
Breathable device for Asthmatics and people with severe respiratory issues in order to keep up with the hazardous increase in air pollution.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
Asthmatic people encounter unique challenges and inequalities in their ability to access health insurance and adequate care public health. Due to which they rely on medical facilities that do not match their severity of respiratory issues or routine.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
People with existing diseases, low-income communities are particularly vulnerable to adverse health outcomes from exposure to air pollution. Compared to the general population, asthmatics and chronic bronchitis patients are highly affected by air pollution, and majority suffer from QOL impairments.
How will the solution works
The proposed concept comprises of a wearable device designed around the respiratory system targeting the parts vital for breathing. The device is going to ameliorate the breathing experience for asthmatics through features like air filters, controllable exhausts for amplified air flow, medication pumps for inhaling and visual feedback. An added feature is the UI/UX design-based app interface that monitors the air quality through the sensors attached in the mask.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
There aren't many existing design solutions except the N-95. My product is designed around the needs of 45% Pakistanis who suffer from breathing difficulties, be it minor allergies or major Respiratory Issues. MY product aims to enhance the breathing experience for asthmatics outside their homes.
