Abstract: |
In a warehouse, an estimated of 60% cost can be attributed to order picking, which constitutes of picking products off shelves and dropping them to their required locations. Snap Pick aims to reduce this cost by optimizing picking processes and minimizing pick errors by making use of Augmented Reality. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Small and medium sized businesses in Pakistan struggle to innovate their operations due to high implementation and setup costs. Snap Pick aims to provide the supply chain industry with a low-cost, smart warehouse system, that can help them in significantly cutting down costs and growing economically |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Any ecommerce stores or retailers that make use of small/medium sized warehouses need it. Snap Pick would help them by allowing manager in administrating these tasks and providing visual guidance for workers in their picking operations and reducing costs to help them compete in the market. |
How will the solution works |
The solution will essentially be a Mobile Application that the worker shall have installed in their phones. Upon receiving a new order, the system shall automatically assign the worker a pick operation based on their work status. Once assigned, the worker shall be guided to the item, using Augmented Reality and optimized routing algorithm. Worker shall scan the item ensuring it's the correct item, once scanned the worker shall be guided back to the collation desk. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
As per our research, only few warehouses in Pakistan are using optimized smart warehouse solutions, and those too are not making use of Augmented reality. The current industry is using paper lists to convey orders to their company personnel. This can be laborious to handle and lead to errors. |
