| The environment and natural resources can only be protected by sustainable acts. The take-make-dispose paradigm is no longer applicable. The wasted plastics are discarded and poured into drainage systems and water bodies, where they destroy aquatic life and harm the environment. Therefore, our team aiming to work on sustainable road construction by using waste plastic. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| Sustainable society's fundamental need is to protect the environment in order to live a healthy life. There is no long-term solution for managing the growing plastic problem. Our plan will serve as a means of utilizing this garbage in a useful manner. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| The environment is a global concern. Developing nations in particular lack regulations for managing waste, notably plastic waste. If this project is successful, poor nations like Pakistan will be able to solve the problem of plastic trash. |
| How will the solution works |
| There are two ways to incorporate plastic into roads. One would be to change the aggregate, and two would be to change the binder. However, there are two obstacles to commercialization. First, the binder behaves differently when mixing the same content of several types of plastic. Second, modified bitumen that has been kept for a long time separates from the original bitumen. | Unfortunately, this innovative invention has no rivals in Pakistan because it hasn't yet been used commercially. We will add a compatibilizer and a few special binders to plastic to make it a success. |
