Abstract:
    Most countries in the world have very ‘centralized’ healthcare networks; with sophisticated emergency help available only in hospitals in major cities. The purpose of this project is to produce very affordable but sophisticated emergency breathing devices that are fit for small clinics and ambulances. The first product that has been developed costs only Rs.40,000 in retail.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Besides nebulizers, breathing devices needed to administer to pneumonia or pulmonary allergy patients are unavailable in hospitals. The root cause of this issue is that sophisticated breathing equipment is imported and does not fit the budgetary tolerance of clinics so local products are needed.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Our target clientele is both small healthcare facilities and hospitals. We will be opting for a B2B business model but CPAP and BiPAP devices will be available to individual customers as well. People who want to expand their clinic’s portfolio to allow better treatments need this solution.
How will the solution works
    It works using a precisely tuned speed controller attached to a medical air blower that controls air pressure and the tidal volume of air filled into the lungs of a patient. we have eliminated control valves to reduce cost. The patient is able to trigger their own breaths or set a fixed number of breaths per minute. All of the control systems are controlled with a Real-Time Operating System using STM32. The GUI is a touch interface and is made using an integrated RTOS with Nextion screens.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    In the local market, all CPAP/BiPAP machines are imported. Our product offers better functionality with spares, repair service and customer support., local distributors of these devices are very interested in working with us. Our product also costs 50% less than the net retail price.
