Abstract: |
This vehicle can extinguish fires remotely in areas where there is a risk to the lives of fire brigade because of possible spreading of fires, explosions and structurally unstable buildings. It can maneuver in tight, congested places. This startup idea to develop and manufacture remote fire fighting vehicles can reduce risk to firefighters' lives. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
Pakistan does not have technology-based solutions to fire-fighting and rescue operations. We need to introduce such robots that can enter dangerous or difficult-to-access areas and perform tasks that pose a threat to fire fighters' lives. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
This technology can potentially benefit a wide range of people, including firefighters, rescue workers, and anyone who is at risk of being caught in a fire. In Ghakkar Plaza (Rwp) fire incident (2008), 13 firefighters lost their lives because the burning building collapsed on them. |
How will the solution works |
The robot is controlled remotely by an operator in the direction of fire using an RC transmitter/joystick. The data from the onboard camera and sensors is used to guide the vehicle. The robot is equipped with a water-spraying system. The fire hose pipe is connected with the robot. The water from pipe is raised to a higher pressure using a pump and a nozzle system. The robot can takes turn and change projectile angles according to the instructions given to it. Its body is heat-resistant. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Our uniqueness lies in the fact that we are trying to lay the foundation of something which is not yet established in Pakistan. There are currently no established manufacturers of fire extinguishing robots in Pakistan and we need to introduce this technology in Pakistan for safe rescue operations. |
