| Abstract: |
| The project idea is an assistive upgrade for Long Haul trucking vehicles. It will allow the driver to see the obstacles or vehicles in front of him during adverse weather conditions. It will be implemented using multiple sensors namely; LiDAR and Stereo camera. |
| What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
| This Idea will allow for the safe travelling of people and goods on Highways and will lead to a decline in road accidents on motorways. |
| Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
| This Idea is targeted towards truck manufacturers in Pakistan such as FAW, and HINOPAK, and its drivers who are the main victims of accidents due to bad weather conditions. |
| How will the solution works |
| Using a combination of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and embedded systems, LIDAR is employed along with a stereo camera to develop a depth map and 3D point cloud for better depth perception accuracy. |
| Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
| As it is an emerging market so as of yet there are no competitors in Pakistan. Since our solution is indigenous, it will be optimised according to the local laws and road conditions, therefore giving it an edge as compared to a system developed abroad. |
