We are designing a new baffle to increase the efficiency and working of the standard shell and tube heat exchanger while also making it easier to manufacture. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
It will overcome the inefficiencies of the standard heat exchanger design by providing a design that is easier to manufacture as compared to helical baffles |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Any industry that uses the shell and tube heat excchanger such as petrochemical and food industry. It will benefit them with reduced cost while improving work efficiency. |
How will the solution works |
Our baffle design will increase the number of flows in a heat exchanger which will in turn increase turbulence and thus heat transfer. The pressure drop will also increase but the increase of heat exchanger will be more significant. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
Our solution is different because it deviates from the standard and utilizes an unorthodox approach to increasing efficiency. Our competitors are the existing standards in baffle designs. |
