Abstract:
    The current water quality monitoring systems can either not represent the entire water body or are non-realtime. Aqua Surveil is an aqua drone equipped with water quality sensors and can monitor the water quality of the entire water body in real time. The data collected will be sent to the web portal where color-coded heat maps will be generated using ML algorithms to visualize the water quality.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    Water quality is declining all over the world at an alarming rate. In Pakistan, there is a dearth of water quality monitoring systems, which are mostly based on manual lab techniques. Few IoT node-based solutions are available but they provide the point data and are not widely used in Pakistan.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   Only 39% of people in Pakistan have access to clean drinking water. The solution can monitor the water quality of any water reservoir that provides water for human usage. Ultimately, it will ensure human well-being and will benefit the general public as they will have access to clean water.
How will the solution works
    It is a remotely controlled boat-like structure, which has water quality sensors (pH, temperature, turbidity, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen) on board. The AquaDrone hovers over the water body and measures these parameters and sends the values to the cloud. Machine learning classification algorithms are applied to classify water quality as per WHO standards. The web portal will display the data collected and color-coded heat map of the water body, generated using ML algorithms.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Currently, the system has no competitors in the local market. The available solutions are manual which are time taking and IoT Nodes which do not represent the entire water body.
