Abstract: |
First Step is a system that uses computer vision and blockchain technology to automate and digitalize the process of gathering and storing evidence from crime scenes, improving upon the current approach. It will give the system integrity and security. Users will be able to access it as a website. |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? |
The chain of custody of evidence is currently stored in files and the system is physically tamperable. Society requires fair judgement and processing of criminal cases which is connected to how properly they are handled. The system will ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the data. |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? |
Law enforcement agencies such as the FIA and police can use it. It demystifies and authenticates their work. Citizens who rely on such organizations to handle their cases fairly will benefit from this system. |
How will the solution works |
The system works by using computer vision to automate the collection of evidence from images of the crime scene. This will expedite the collection process. Additional information about a case, as well as the chain of custody, will be added to the blockchain. This will keep the storage safe and secure while also preserving its integrity. |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different |
According to our in-depth market analysis, blockchain is being used in several industries, including digital forensics. But there isn't a solution like this. Law enforcement organizations, local police, and paramedics like the Edhi Foundation, Rescue 1122, etc. can adopt this solution. |
