Abstract:
    Our idea is for the rehabilitation purpose for the lower body disabled people generally known as paraplegic patients, and to give them an access of self-controlled therapy at anytime, we want to introduce our device that will pick up signals by hand gestures with some controlling factors included incorporated with voice inputs too.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
    The society lacks the 24 hour serivces provided to paraplegic patients and is way too expensive to pay caretakers and therapists which our device will minimize and the patients will have a real chance of rehabilitation of their muscles on their own, at any time.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
   The paraplegic patients are our major concern to have their lower limb muscles rehabilitated but it can also be used by atheletes to stimulate their lower limb muscles with self controlling mechanism it presents.
How will the solution works
    The solution will consist of an EMG circuit which will pick up electromyogram signals from the hand region, by connected electrodes and a particular set of 5 gestures will activate different modes of the device. In addition to EMG signalling, the voice module can also activate the different modes for the therapy. The signals from the EMG circuit will then be subjected to machine learning processes to recognize the mode selection and then a stimulator circuit at the end will be activated by it.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
    Our competitor are those industries which make the exo-skeleton frame providing stimulation but they are providing a whole set frame that makes a disabled person immovable for a time period and the others have the wheel chair form but without the self controlling therapy system present in them.
