The scope of the project pertains to the design, analysis and manufacturing of a formula student car suspension, which includes suspension geometry, brake system and steering geometry, and its integration with car's chassis and power train. The steering rack, shock absorbers, brake calipers and master cylinder would be purchased and integrated into the design wherever necessary. | |
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ? | |
Our country is not self-sufficient in the Automotive sector. Building car as students not only translates our engineering knowledge to practice but will help us in becoming better engineers for our country and will motivate us to think about in-house development of automobiles in Pakistan. | |
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ? | |
When it comes to engineering, there is a huge gap between the classroom and the industry. Formula Student Competitions or any engineering competitions for that matter, provide them with a platform to implement their knowledge and appreciate the value of engineering practice. | |
How will the solution works | |
The suspension system will dissipate the vibrations transmitted from the uneven surfaces of the ground to the car using a shock absorber keeping the ride fairly smooth. Our suspension system is a independent type, double wishbone, pushrod system for better handling and performance of our Formula car. | |
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different | |
Our competitors are other student teams from Pakistan as well as from all over the world. We started the first-ever Electric formula team of NUST H-12 despite the lack of experience and lack of funding. Our aim is to win Pakistan a name in FSUK being held in Silverstone, UK in 2023. | |
