Abstract: | |
Observing that there aren't many options available in the market for ration delivery, and most of the food being delivered is in the form of cardboard boxes, that get disposed of, mostly not in the most sustainable manner. Incorporating a post-delivery functionality into the intended product that will deliver food rations will enable users to become more aware of the imminent threats of disasters.
What is the unmet need in society that your idea will fulfill ?
Pakistan is a developing country, with not many resources. Owing to its geographical location, it is susceptible to natural disasters. Current floods; depicted a need for a product that provides the appropriate rations to the people, as well as solves the problem of clean potable water.
Who needs it ? How many would benefit ?
Primary and Secondary Stakeholders will be Flood-Victims and Relief-Aid Workers respectively. The main issue, the product will address is to fulfill the appropriate nutritional value for the flood victims and to provide them with clean potable water through ceramic filtration.
How will the solution works
The First function of the product will be to safely deliver food rations to the flood victims, and the secondary function will be to filter the flood water. In addition to that, the intended product will be easy to handle in order to aid the relief aid providers during the distribution process. The addition of solar panels will allow the product to be visible even if relief operations are carried out at night. It will be water-proof and buoyant as well, aiding in the recovery of lost belongings.
Who are your competitors ? How is your solution different
An outer casing for flood-relief food rations is primarily cardboard boxes, that serve no other purpose and are readily disposed of. The cardboard boxes manufacturing industry will be taken as a competitor as they provide readily available boxes that serve the purpose of delivery in large quantities
